Prize for literature from the state capital Düsseldorf
The advancement award for literature , donated by the city of Düsseldorf , has been awarded by the state capital city council since 1972 on the basis of the decisions of the jury.
Prize money
The prize is endowed with 4,000 euros.
Award criteria
The Prize for Literature of the City of Düsseldorf is awarded once a year to artists and groups, especially in the areas of poetry , writing , criticism and translation . The prizes are awarded for a single artistic achievement as well as for the previous overall achievement of a young artist whose further development deserves a grant.
The prerequisite for the award is that there is a real relationship between the artist or the group and the city of Düsseldorf, which can be proven through training, activity, residence or other ties.
In general, the award winner should not be older than 40 years and the award winner not older than 35 years.
Another award of the prize to the same artist is permitted if there is a period of at least five years between the awards.
