Angela Litschev

Angela Litschev (or Angela Litschewa , Bulgarian Ангела Личева ; born July 17, 1978 in Sofia ) is a German-Bulgarian poet . She lives and works in Düsseldorf .

life and work

Angela Litschev was born in Sofia in 1978 as the only daughter of the philosophy lecturer Alexander Litschev and his wife Anna, a sociologist. The family emigrated to Germany in 1990 after their father had received a teaching position at the University of Düsseldorf . She attended the Annette-von-Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf and then attended the St. Ursula Vocational College in the field of social affairs.

Litschev has published her poems so far in poetry magazines and anthologies , including in two volumes of the Junge Lyrik series at Martin Werhand Verlag in 2000 and 2003, and also in Das Gedicht. Journal of Poetry, Essay and Criticism in 2003, 2007 and 2009.

In 2003 she received the Unicum Prize for the best sonnet . In 2004 she brought out her debut volume, a red minute , for which she received the award for literature of the state capital Düsseldorf in 2005 . This honor also brought her fame beyond the borders of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia and a reading at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin in 2007. Her second volume of poetry, Rausch und T Deception , had already been published the year before . From this volume various of her poems for the magazine Riječi with an introduction by Ludwig Bauer have been translated into Croatian.

In 2006 she took part in the visual lyrical project of the Bremer Straßenbahn AG called Poesie Bewegt under the direction of Joachim Tuz with her work.

In addition to readings, she also reviews works by colleagues from the Düsseldorf area or supports fellow Bulgarian writers. In 2009 she was involved in the translation of new Bulgarian poetry for Akzente magazine .
