The Martin Werhand Verlag (MWV) is a German book publisher with a focus on contemporary and classical fiction . Among other things, the publisher publishes various poetry and prose series and since its foundation has also been specifically committed to new young lyric talents with a migration background , who now make up more than 25% of the authors published by the publisher .

The Martin Werhand Verlag was founded in April 1997 by the Germanist Martin Werhand. Martin Werhand is the son of the Neuwied blacksmith Klaus Rudolf Werhand .

From 1999 to 2002, Martin Werhand Verlag published three volumes of poetry, each containing 750 poems by 50 young, previously unpublished authors. Associated with this was a series of readings in which some of the authors presented their works at the University of Cologne, among others .

The first three anthologies of poetry published by the publisher exclusively include authors who were born in 1967 or later. In addition to anthologies, Martin Werhand Verlag has been publishing various poetry and prose series since 2014.
