Ann Catrin Apstein-Müller

Ann Catrin Apstein-Müller (also Ann Catrin Bolton * April 13, 1973 in Graefelfing ) is a German poet and translator . She lives and works in Augsburg .

life and work

Ann Catrin Apstein-Müller grew up in a suburb of Munich, where she graduated from high school in 1992. It follows a study of German and American studies and media law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich . The course was followed by an apprenticeship as a bookseller in Munich . After ten years of part-time work in the book trade , during which she built up her freelance work, she now works as an author and freelance translator for literature and specialist texts. She started writing at elementary school age, in the most intensive phase between 2000 and 2013 she mainly processed her own life situations and observations, combined with influences from music, film and literature.

Since 2005 she has mainly worked as a translator from Slovenian and English, so she has translated numerous works of fiction and plays by Slovenian authors into German. In November 2015 she published her first volume of poetry with the title Sonnenhonig in the 100 poems series by Martin Werhand Verlag . Her second poetry publication appeared a year later under the name Degravitation by the same publisher. In addition to poems, the first lyric texts appeared in 2002 in the anthology series Junge Lyrik published by Martin Werhand Verlag, Ann Catrin Apstein-Müller has also published short prose, including in the German literary magazine Dichtungsring .
