Simone Augustin

Simone Augustin , born Simone Roßkamp , (born November 23, 1976 in Heinsberg ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1996 and studying theater, film and television studies, German and art history at the University of Cologne with a final master’s thesis on Quentin Tarantino's award-winning film Pulp Fiction, she did various internships and internships, including at the Cologne city center Anzeiger , Kulturzeit , WDR , Deutsche Welle or Scholz & Friends in Berlin.

In 1999 she took part with lyric texts in the Junge Lyrik series at Martin Werhand Verlag . The published poems were read as part of a series of readings by various authors in various German cities. among other things in 2000 with a reading at the University of Cologne. After completing her master's degree in the cathedral city on the Rhine, she moved to Berlin as a journalist, both privately and professionally .

The contribution she wrote in 2004: Poverty Belt Berlin-Mitte, 888 for Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg - Das Stadtradio was awarded the Axel Springer Prize in the radio category in May 2005 in the presence of Friede Springer and Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner .

In 2005 Simone Augustin belonged to the 2nd class of graduates from the Ems Electronic Media School in Berlin.

Since 2001, her contributions as a freelance journalist have appeared in numerous press organs such as the Film-Dienst , the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger , the taz and the rbb in Berlin.

In 2018 she received for her multimedia research project "Building zombies - What will happen to the ruins of our city?" together with Daniela Lentin from Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg the German Prize for Monument Protection in the Journalist Prize category. In addition, she was honored with the special prize for the same project in 2018 by the Federal Chamber of Architects in the " Architecture remains " competition .

Simone Augustin works as a journalist and radio editor in Berlin .
