Florian Cieslik (born September 11, 1975 in Düsseldorf ) is a German poet and slam poet.

life and work

Florian Cieslik, born 1975 in Düsseldorf, grew up as the son of a guitar teacher and a social worker in Krefeld . After graduating from high school in 1995 and subsequent community service, he studied German and sports at the University of Cologne . Cieslik already developed his talent in the writing guild in his youth. Since the late 1990s he has been working as an author somewhere between poetry and prose. In 2001 he published his first poetry volume Dynamit in a drawer , in 2002 the second volume was published, Über den Tellerrand . Since the beginning of the 2000s, he has also been represented as an author with publications in various poetry anthologies, including 2002 in the Martin Werhand Verlag in the third volume of the anthology series Junge Lyrik . In 2003, on the occasion of World Book Day , he was invited along with six other poets, including Thomas Bruns , Patric Hemgesberg and Martin Werhand , to an author reading by Thalia Holding on April 23 for the Junge Lyrik series in Münster . In 2006 he took part in the visual lyrical project of the Bremer Straßenbahn AG called Poesie Bewegt under the direction of Joachim Tuz with his work. In addition, his poetry was published in the Christmas classics series Gedichte zur Christmas , which Stephan Koranyi is responsible for at Reclam Verlag , and in 2012 texts in the anthology 155 Kurz: a not so short collection of the best shorts, edited by Björn Högsdal and Wolf Hogekamp . Born in Düsseldorf, he has been on tour with the Lyrock series designed by Cieslik and founded in the Cologne area. His performances are accompanied by music on lyrock evenings. In 2008 Florian Cieslik was a finalist (fifth place) at the German-language Poetry Slam Championships in Zurich , in 2010 he won the SWR Poetry Slam twice in a row, and in 2014 Cieslik was the winner of the Hessen Slam.

In addition to his work as an author, organizer, moderator and slam poet, he also passes on his knowledge in workshops on creative writing and poetry slams at schools and universities. He also heads the theater group at the Wöhlerschule in Frankfurt am Main . In 2015 he created a guest contribution to the topic week Heimat for WDR 2 with his Heimat Slam .
