Björn Högsdal

Björn Högsdal (* 1975 in Cologne ) is a German author, slam poet and presenter.

biography

Högsdal grew up in Meersburg on Lake Constance and moved to Kiel in 1996 , where he still works and lives today. His mostly prosaic texts have been published in numerous anthologies and magazines (such as the titanic magazine), and he is also the editor of various anthologies and text collections. Under the name assemble ART , Högsdal has been organizing and moderating literary events such as the spoken word festival “WortGewalten”, poetry slams and the slam op Platt in Schleswig-Holstein since 2002 . He is considered to be one of the most important players in the slam culture in northern Germany and the German-speaking scene in general, and accordingly often appears as a participant in poetry slams. In 2009 he reached the final of the German-speaking slam championships in Düsseldorf and ended up in seventh place. His first independent publication was the stage text collection in 2010. If I had studied German for teaching, that would not have happened at the Paderborn Lektora-Verlag. In 2013, Högsdal was the organizer of the first independent German-speaking U20 championships in the poetry slam in Kiel. Högsdal has been a permanent member of the Kiel reading stage Irgendwas mit Möwen ( formerly : Lesus Christ) since 2010 .

Högsdal had appearances at the WDR Poetry Slam, Slam Tour with Kuttner (Sat1 Comedy) , at the NDR Comedy Contest and in the slam documentary Dichter und Käufer (2012) .

Others

Högsdal has been co-operator of the oldest German literary telephone in Kiel since 2007 .
