Thomas Wensing

Thomas Wensing (born May 1, 1978 in Cologne ) is a German writer who writes poems and short stories.

life and work

Thomas Wensing, born 1978 in Cologne, studied business informatics at the University of Cologne and did his doctorate at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt on a topic of warehousing theory. Wensing works as a specialist in mathematical optimization.

In addition to studying and normal work, Wensing developed his talent as an author. Since the late 1990s he has been represented as a poet with publications in various poetry anthologies, including the Martin Werhand Verlag in the anthologies Junge Lyrik , Junge Lyrik II and Junge Lyrik III . In 2006 he took part in the visual lyrical project Poesie Bewegt of the Bremer Straßenbahn AG under the direction of Joachim Tuz with his work. In the mid-2000s, Wensing appeared as a trio with the musicians Martin Schmitz and Michael Wurzel "rarely" in literary and musical terms. In addition, he presented his texts in various other formats, for example in 2010 in cooperation with the Ingolstadt City Theater . In August 2014 his first volume of poetry Mitschrift was published in the 100 Poems series by Martin Werhand Verlag. His second publication appeared in the series of short stories in November 2015 under the title interlude by the same publisher. A third publication with poems in the MWV appeared in December 2019 under the title Autumn Day in the series 50 poems.
