reception
“The work of art, the execution of which was entrusted to the Neuwied and multiple award-winning metal sculptor Klaus Rudolf Werhand in Melsbach, was a fountain of 180 running meters and about seven hundred pounds of heavy, hand-forged copper tape. After the fountain was artistically crafted in 1971, it would take eight years before it finally found its place on Luisenplatz. Since the days when Neuwied staged its big Deichstadtfest, it has enriched the city center as an often admired gem. The copper fountain, whose almost delicate cascade shapes rise four meters on Pfarrstrasse opposite the post office and whose illuminated water column is an eye-catcher in the dark. "
