Martin Baltscheit
Martin Baltscheit (born September 16, 1965 in Düsseldorf ) is a German comic artist , illustrator , writer , actor and director .
Life
Baltscheit studied communication design at the Folkwang School of Design in Essen . From 1986 to 1992 he was a member of the Young Ensemble Theater in Düsseldorf . After starting his career as a cartoonist, he wrote and illustrated children's books, radio plays, plays and cartoons.
For the West German Broadcasting Corporation he worked as a presenter and author in the team for the WDR-5 children's show Bärenbude . Since 1997 he has also worked as a speaker for audio books, radio plays and commercials. His book Major Dux or the day on which music was banned was performed as a play from September to December 2008 as part of the autumn of 2008. The jury selected Nur 1 Tag by and with Martin Baltscheit, who acted as author, interpreter, director and illustrator, as the children's and youth audiobook of the year 2014 . This audio book prize from the state capital Wiesbaden is endowed with 10,000 euros.
In 2014 he was a member of the jury for the award The Extraordinary Book of the children and youth program of the Berlin International Literature Festival .
In 2017 he made his feature film directing debut with the film Nur ein Tag . He was also involved as a screenwriter .
Martin Baltscheit lives in Düsseldorf.

- 2018: Prize of the German Film Critics 2017 - Award in the category Best Children's Film for Just One Day
