Ulf K. (born Ulf Keyenburg on September 2, 1969 in Oberhausen ) is a German comic artist and illustrator .

Life

Two years after graduating from high school in 1989, Ulf K. began studying communication design with a focus on illustration at the Folkwang University in Essen . During his studies he worked as a freelance comic artist and illustrator for the press and advertising . After a semester abroad in Paris between 1996 and 1997, he moved back to his native Ruhr area . In that year he also founded the self-publisher Ubu Imperator . In 1998 his first comic album, Der Mondgucker and other stories, was published in the Bremen Edition Panel and was sold out within a few months (new edition 2002).

In 2000 Der Exlibris was published for and in cooperation with the Frankfurt Book Fair . The story was published in advance in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .

Ulf K's comic stories appear in various magazines around the world, including in Germany in Panel and Moga Mobo , in Strapazin in Switzerland , in Lapin in France , in Spoutnik in Canada , in Suuri Kurpitsa in Finland and in the US Top Shelf .

Currently, Ulf K. is primarily devoting himself to writing children's books, such as the Turm! Lamp! in collaboration with Martin Baltscheit , with whom he already worked on Little Mr Paul . These titles were published by Altberliner Verlag .

On April 28, 2009, Ulf K. began a story entitled Beginning after the end in pictures on the last page of the feature pages of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . Since September 17, 2013, stories from Mr. Keuner have followed in the same place from Tuesday to Friday using the shortest stories published by Bertolt Brecht from 1926.

Ulf K. lives with his family in Düsseldorf.
