besides is a publisher-independent literary magazine that has been published in Munich since 1999. The magazine publishes contemporary, modern texts that see themselves outside the established literary scene and aim to be innovative alternatives to conventional poetry and prose. The spectrum of forms ranges from lyric poetry in bound language through progressive lyric poetry and prose to linguistic non-texts. besides, it is published once a year without a specific topic. The magazine organizes regular (at least once a year) readings to present its issues. Most recently these took place in the Lyrik Kabinett in Munich.
