Michael Helming

Michael Helming (born September 30, 1972 in Bremerhaven ) is a German writer and dramaturge .

Life

He has lived in Ravensburg since 1993 and in his literary work combines themes and motifs from subculture with those from traditional fantasy . He mainly publishes short stories, poetry and plays. The focus of his texts is again and again the skepticism towards any kind of information and the "knowing person". The Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges , on whom Helming has also published an essay, is likely to serve as a model for various stories .

He not only works for the stage and film, but also in public spaces. In 2006, for example, a text suggested by Andreas Knitz for the monument to the gray buses was created .

Michael Helming is co-editor of various beat and slam anthologies and has participated in the German International Poetry Slam (GIPS) several times . He has received several literary prizes, such as the Ravensburger Literature Prize .

His texts appear in literary magazines such as Dopen , Besides , Macondo or Typist . Michael Helming has been part of the editorial team of the philosophy magazine Lichtwolf since 2009 , in which he has published regularly since 2006.
