Macondo is a literary magazine published in Bochum .

history

The magazine was launched in 1998 by Frank Schorneck and Petra Vesper. Named after the fictional place in which Gabriel García Márquez set his novel Hundred Years of Solitude , among other things , Macondo is intended to serve as a place where the stories converge. The publishers in Bochum have been organizing the annual Macondo literature festival since 2000. The final issue is No. 24 from 2011 on "Villains". The last call for contributions on the subject of "islands" was also made in 2011. Currently (2018) there is a notice on the magazine's homepage that the publication of the magazine is being suspended due to a legal dispute.
