Lichtwolf - magazine despite philosophy is a German-language, illustrated cultural magazine that has been published since 2002. The name refers to "clearing", a term in Martin Heidegger's philosophy .

Origin and development

The magazine Lichtwolf was founded in 2002 in the context of the Philosophy Student Council at the University of Freiburg . The first issues to 2007 were typewriters typed, illustrated by hand and Printing duplicated. After an interruption, the magazine has been published quarterly by catware.net Verlag (Ostfriesland) since 2009. Since 2011, all editions have also been offered as e-books.

The magazine

Content orientation

After the magazine dealt with philosophy and university policy issues such as the protests against tuition fees and the Bologna reforms at the University of Freiburg and published poems and short stories, the focus has increasingly shifted to essays . The language and form customary in academic journals are not used. Instead, the texts contain narrative and journalistic elements as well as satirical elements (such as the supposed children's page "Lichtwelpe"). Each issue has a title topic such as B. Citizenship (No. 43), Blumenkraft (No. 49) or Boobs Hitler (No. 37). In addition to the contemporary-critical discussion of politics, media and business, both current philosophical controversies (e.g. about Martin Heidegger's black books or about the bioethicist Peter Singer ) as well as aesthetic niche topics (e.g. forgotten authors) are dealt with.

Authors

Regular authors include Bdolf , Jonis Hartmann , Michael Helming , Marc Hieronimus , Wolfgang Schröder and Johannes Witek . Individual guest contributions were u. a. by Hadayatullah Hübsch , Georg Seeßlen , Lino Wirag and Dietmar Wischmeyer .
