Gerald Fiebig

Gerald Fiebig (* 1973 ) is a German writer and (experimental) musician.

life and work

Gerald Fiebig initially attracted attention as a poet and was also the editor of the literary magazine “Zeitriss” for ten years from 1991 to 2001, which was awarded the 1995 art prize of the city of Augsburg in the literature section. From 1999 to around 2003 he published the music fanzine used music , which is continued as an online label today. Fiebig's poems have been published in numerous literary magazines and anthologies (including " The Great Conrady . The Book of German Poems. From the Beginning to the Present"). In 2004 he received the art promotion award of the city of Augsburg in the literature section for his poetic work.

As a musician, Fiebig is active both as a lyricist and member of the house music group "Jesus Jackson & die Grenzlandreiter" as well as in the experimental sound art scene. Together with Mathias Huber, he realized the participatory sound sculpture " Acoustic Monument" for Walter Klingenbeck in the public space as a duo "die Grenzlandreiter" in Munich in 2006 , reminding of the resistance fighter Walter Klingenbeck who was murdered by the Nazi regime . Since July 2015 he has been director of the Abraxas cultural center .

Gerald Fiebig lives in Augsburg and is married to the artist Tine Klink.
