The Abraxas cultural center is a cultural institution of the city of Augsburg . Abraxas stands for a trium, b ühne, r estaurant, a teliers, e x perimental music in a ugsburg at the s ommestraße. Gerald Fiebig is currently managing the cultural center .

After the US armed forces handed the Reese barracks over to the Federal Property Administration in 1994 , the city of Augsburg rented the former officers' mess of the Somme barracks, which the Army had used as a Family Recreation Center , and built a cultural center with a theater for 150 seats, an exhibition hall and studios here , Music practice rooms and restaurant .

Since January 1996, music, especially jazz , and theater performances as well as exhibitions have been held here. The fairytale tent has been on the outdoor area since March 1997. The office of the Federal Association of Visual Artists has been located in Abraxas since February 1998 and will in future also use the exhibition hall.
