history

TSV Lechbruck

As early as the 1920s, an ice hockey division was founded at TSV Lechbruck , which ran the game at Rottach-Weiher. After the end of the Second World War , it only took a few years before a natural ice rink was built in the Lechauen and games at TSV continued.

In the summer of 1965, the TSV team was promoted to the third-class Regionalliga Süd , in which the team only stayed this season. In the summer of 1970, the shortage of players led to the temporary cessation of gaming operations. After the resumption of the TSV team succeeded in the summer of 1975, the renewed promotion to the - now fourth-class - Regionalliga Süd , where they managed to stay. In the 1978/79 season, TSV Lechbruck was promoted to the Oberliga Süd (the games against ERC Ingolstadt for the regional league championship in front of a sold out house in Lechbruck), where they immediately established themselves in the midfield of the third-highest division. Here you could hold out for two years until TSV Lechbruck finally had to file for bankruptcy in 1982.

ERC Lechbruck and SV Lechbruck

In order to permanently train and promote the youngsters and thus secure the further development of ice hockey in Lechbruck, consideration was given to separating ice hockey and soccer and to founding their own club. On March 3, 1978, the new ERC Lechbruck association was founded in the Hirsch Gasthaus. The TSV, which was replaced by SV Lechbruck after its dissolution, campaigned intensely and fully motivated for football in Lechbruck. However, he played ice hockey with his players in the winter months. As a result, later two teams from Lechbruck faced each other and had to fight for victory and points. Reasonably enough, despite the interesting encounters, the teams were merged.

ERC Lechbruck

After a new start in the regional league in the early 1980s, successful youth work that has been maintained to this day was established. With the interruption of two participations in the championship of the fourth-class Regionalliga Süd ( 1987/88 and 1990/91 ) one was considered one of the veterans of the Bayernliga until 2004 .

In the 2001/2002 season, the club became known nationwide in ice hockey: a tenant who was later moved into an apartment directly next to the stadium tried to force the suspension of ice hockey games and training operations in the stadium due to noise pollution. On the other hand, the ERC received supportive comments from beyond Germany and, among other things, a registered demonstration by ice hockey fans was carried out on site, in which fans from many clubs took part. Something special about the campaign was that fans of clubs that are otherwise not very “green” took part in this campaign and the delegation that traveled the furthest were fans of the ETC Crimmitschau .

Due to the progressive professionalization of amateur sport, the club's management was forced to voluntarily withdraw from this league after the 2003/04 season, despite achieving the Bayern League relegation. This was the only way to prevent the ruin of Lechbruck's flagship. At the same time also when was ERC existing women's team for not responding to the game operation.

The Bavarian Ice Sports Association (BEV) then delegated the ERC Lechbruck to the lowest league (District League Bavaria), in which the group win and thus promotion to the regional league could be achieved straight away in the 2004/05 season. At the end of the 2006/07 season, the league could not be held athletically, but due to the advancement of EV Pfronten in the Bavarian ice hockey league and due to the lack of a promotion interested teams from the Bavarian regional league, they could still participate in the Bavarian regional league.

In the 2008/09 season, the ERC Lechbruck was able to occupy a third place in the table behind the EV Lindau and the EA Schongau in the Landesliga West . In the promotion round to the Bayernliga, among others with the top teams EHC Bayreuth , SVG Burgkirchen and ESC Haßfurt , the sixth place of eight teams was achieved. The two ERC strikers Markus Schneider and Pietro Vacca were among the top 20 of the league's best scorers. After the 2009/10 season, the team rose from the national league.
