^ Ice Hockey Regional League Bavaria

The Bavarian Regional League has been organized by the Bavarian Ice Sports Association (BEV) since 1991 and is currently the sixth highest division in the German league system . The league was introduced instead of the Kreisliga Bayern , which was the third-highest division for ice hockey teams from Bavaria between 1948/49 and the introduction of the Bundesliga and was played safely until 1975/76 and played again from 1987/88 to 1990/91. In addition to the championship round, the BEV Cup will also be played at district level from the 2019/20 season.

Season 2020/21

Both finalists of the previous season entitled to promotion, Wanderers Germering and SG Schliersee / Miesbach 1b, have exercised their right to promotion. In addition, the ERC Lechbruck was nominated as 3rd climber by the BEV . The ERC Ingolstadt , the TV Lindenberg and the EC Oberstdorf have not reported any teams for the District League for the season 2020/21. New in the league are the ERC Sonthofen (withdrawal from the Oberliga), the TSV Farchant (withdrawal from the regional league), the 1st EC Senden, the ESC Geretsried 1b and the EV Bad Wörishofen 1b.

Season 2019/20

Of the two finalists eligible for promotion in the previous season, only EHC Bayreuth 1b exercised its promotion right. This means that EV Bad Wörishofen can remain in the regional league as a successor. Master EV Mittenwald therefore remains in the district league. The Deggendorfer SC 1b and the SG EC Senden / ESV Burgau 1b (both retreat) are no longer there . The ESC Kempten 1b and the SG TSV Schliersee 1b / TEV Miesbach 1c are new.

The groups are essentially divided as follows: In Group 1 (formerly North) the clubs from Franconia , Upper Palatinate , Northern Upper Bavaria and Northern Lower Bavaria play. Group 2 (formerly East) includes clubs from the south-eastern part of Lower Bavaria and mainly from the eastern part of Upper Bavaria . Group 3 (formerly South) consists of clubs from southern Upper Bavaria. Clubs from Swabia play in Group 4 (formerly West).

Game mode

The league is played in four regional groups, each comprising seven, eight and nine teams. Groups 1 and 4 each play a 1.5-fold round, groups 2 and 3 each play a single round. The champions and runners-up in the groups are required to take part in the championship playoff. The finalists are those who have been promoted to the 2020/21 regional league, and the winner is also the Bavarian regional league champion. In the event of a renunciation of promotion, the teams can move up at the championship playoffs in the order determined by the sport. Source: Icehockeypage Current table: bev-eissport.de
