The EHC Bad Aibling is an ice hockey club from Bad Aibling in Upper Bavaria . The club used to play in the third-class league at times under the nickname Dragodiles .
history
Predecessor of the EHC Bad Aibling
On February 14, 1946, when TuS Bad Aibling was founded, there was already an ice hockey department that later took part in league games. After the TuS there was an EV Bad Aibling, which certainly took part in the league game in 1962/63.
Before 1996
The club took part as a participant in the Bayern League as early as 1986/87 in the promotion round to Regionalliga Süd 1987/88 , which could be repeated in the 1993/94 season .
1996 to 2002
In the 1996/97 season, the Dragodiles succeeded as runner-up in the regional league as they rose to the Bavarian League . After the runner-up in the 1997/98 season in the Bayern League, the team managed to move up again to the - then fourth-class - 2nd League South, finishing second in the qualifying round for the 2nd South League and the subsequent playoff victory against the Schwenningen ERC Fire Wings 1998/99 . After the preliminary round in the 2nd League South, which was concluded as a winner, the team did not succeed in the renewed athletic promotion to the Oberliga - but the team moved to the Oberliga Süd in 1999/00 . In this division, the team remained until the 2001/02 season . In summer 2002 the board decided not to become a member of the ESBG and thus to forego further participation in the Oberliga. Until the 1999/00 season, a second senior team took part in the game under the umbrella of the club.
From 2002
After the decision not to participate in the league, the board and also the nickname of the team changed from Dragodiles to Aibdogs , since the rights to the nickname and logo were with a former board member of the club.
Due to the unsportsmanlike relegation, the team was divided into the lowest division by the association for the 2002/03 season, the Bavarian district league, from which the team succeeded in returning to the regional league after the 2003/04 season .
