The ESV Bayersoien is a sports club from the Upper Bavarian Bayersoien in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen . It was founded in 1951 and consists of the departments ice hockey, darts, ski, bike, power and ice stock. The men's team in the ice hockey department used to play in Germany's fourth-highest division for several years. The ESV plays its home games in the Peiting ice rink.

history

The ESV Bad Bayersoien was founded in 1951 with the ice hockey and skiing departments. Hiking (cross-country skiing and people's march), ice stock, table tennis and gymnastics were added later. Today the ESV consists of the divisions ice hockey, darts, skiing, cycling, power and ice stock.

ice Hockey

The ice hockey team of ESV Bad Bayersoien already participated in league games in the 1950s and was able to achieve first successes in 1955 with the championship of the district class, the championship in 1956 in the Bavarian regional league and the associated promotion to the second-class Bavarian regional league . In the period 1979 to 1988, the ESV team played in the natural ice Bavarian League , winning in 1980 and 1985 , the Bavarian natural ice championship. After the introduction of the artificial ice Bavarian League, it was no longer possible to move up from the Natural Ice Bavarian League to the DEB area, which is why the ESVB switched to the Bavarian State League from the 1987/88 season. In the first year in the regional league, the ESV team won the championship in the group south and in the second year they secured promotion to the artificial ice Bavarian league . In the two following years, the ESV team reached the qualifying round for the Regionalliga, whereby the promotion only succeeded in the second attempt and they then played from 1991/92 to 1993/94 Regionalliga . This was followed by the voluntary withdrawal into the Bavarian State League, in which the team was established as champions in the group south at the end of the season. After that, the Bavarian team played, with the exception of a year in the district league, continuously until 2006 in the Bavarian State League. The ice hockey team has been a member of the Bavarian District League since 2006, where it mostly occupied top places. In 2011 the ESV Bad Bayersoien and the EC Peiting 1b founded a syndicate in the Bavarian District League. Joint successes in this period were two runner-up championships and a championship in the District League South.

Ice rink

The Bad Bayersoien natural ice stadium was formerly used by the ice hockey department. Since the stadium is no longer approved for league operations according to the requirements of the BEV , the ESV ice hockey team is playing its home games today in the Peiting ice rink, which can hold 2,500 spectators.
