ice Hockey
Ice hockey teams have been in the ECO since 1929 . As early as 1934, the EC team was able to bring the Bavarian natural ice championship to Oberstdorf. From 1961/62 the men's team of the ECO played in the league and in the summer of 1966 formed a syndicate with the ERC Sonthofen , which qualified for the Bundesliga in 1966/67 (OL. 3rd place) and after the 1970/71 season ( Runner-up OL 2nd league) was dissolved again in the summer after insoluble financial problems. The ECO then took part in the game again with its own team, which again participated in the Regionalliga Süd from the 1974/75 season and in 1980/81 the athletic qualification for the 1981/82 Oberliga and reached 17th place in the 1982/83 season . (= penultimate) table position. The 2nd Bundesliga was replenished in the 1983/84 season with interested teams from the Oberliga, including the ECO , but after this season they were relegated to the Oberliga. In the summer of 1984, the team was withdrawn before the start of the season and the club continued to play in the leagues of the Bavarian Ice Sports Association . Between 2010 and 2015, the ECO senior team, which had previously been registered independently, became a syndicate with 1b from ERC Sonthofen, which was dissolved again in 2015. After that, the Oberstdorf polar bears appeared again alone under their names. In the 2015/16 season they were relegated to the district league. Then followed a year in the district league, in which a 4th place was achieved.
