The 1963/64 season of the ice hockey league was the sixth season of the league as the second highest German ice hockey division under the Bundesliga . The master TuS Eintracht Dortmund rose directly to the top division, while the last of the Bundesliga, Preussen Krefeld , had to take the place in the top division . The Cologne EK was relegated to the group league and was replaced by the Munich EV from 1883.

The ice hockey department of TSV Holzkirchen, promoted from the group league, had become independent under the name EHC Holzkirchen.

mode

As in the previous year, the participating teams played a single round, so that each club played a home and an away game against the other teams. At the end of the season, however, the league champion rose directly back to the Bundesliga , while the last placed, however, relegated to the group league and was replaced by their champions.
