The VfL Bad Nauheim is a sports club based in Bad Nauheim in the Wetterau , which the Americans was established in October 1945 under supervision. Because the statutes of the Allies stipulated that there should only be one sports club in communities the size of Bad Nauheim, all the previously existing independent clubs in the spa town were incorporated into the newly founded VfL as departments. One of the clubs affected by this measure was SV 06 Bad Nauheim , which had mainly dedicated itself to football and which thus became the football department of VfL Bad Nauheim.

VfL Bad Nauheim gained national fame through its ice hockey department, which was established in 1946 . After the club got increasingly into financial difficulties in the late 1970s, for which the ice hockey department was primarily responsible, the other departments broke away from the club and were partly founded under VfL Bad Nauheim 1978 e. V. again. This VfL 1978 still had the following departments; Judo, fencing, coronary, soccer until 1984, hockey was added later, aikido, recreational sports and for a while also dancing and break dance. VfL BN went bankrupt in 1982 to EC Bad Nauheim, which had only recently been founded . The ECN is considered to be the successor club to VfL, but 20 years later it went bankrupt itself and was replaced at the beginning of the new millennium by the Rote Teufel Bad Nauheim club, founded in 2001 .

Today's VfL Bad Nauheim e. V. emerged from VfL Bad Nauheim 1978, which was briefly given the addition of 1978 and which succeeded it again after VfL Bad Nauheim - Eissport went bankrupt. He is completely devoted to amateur sports and now offers judo , aikido , fencing , jujutsu and hockey . The first chairman is Wladek Nedavniy.
