The 1964/65 season of the ice hockey Bundesliga was the seventh season of the Bundesliga , the highest German ice hockey league . The German champion was EV Füssen , which won its twelfth championship title with a twelve point lead over the second placed EC Bad Tölz . Due to the increase in the league from eight to ten participants for the following season , Preussen Krefeld and the Düsseldorfer EG rose directly to the Bundesliga, in the relegation the previous league club VfL Bad Nauheim prevailed against TuS Eintracht Dortmund .

As in the previous year, the eight participating teams initially contested a single round, after which the best four clubs qualified for the championship round. There the German champions were finally determined taking the preliminary round points and again in a single round. The other four teams contested, also taking the preliminary round points, a relegation round, the last-placed team had to contest a relegation game against the third in the league . As a result of the increase in the league from eight to ten teams, the champions and the runner-up in the second division also rose directly to the Bundesliga.
