Relegation matches

The relegation games were played in the " best-of-three ". The decisive match took place in Düsseldorf .

series 1 2 3
ES white water - EC Ratingen 1: 2 5: 4 a.d. 2: 3 2: 5

Again, however, the relegation was decided at the "green table", because with SB Rosenheim another team withdrew from the league for financial reasons. The three-time German champion and reigning runner-up had fallen out with his main sponsor, who then withdrew his promised funds. ES Weißwasser again prevailed in the 2nd round of the play-downs and thus qualified for the relegation again. The withdrawal of the Rosenheimers meant that the Lausitzers had held the class before the end of the relay series against EC Ratingen . After Weißwasser's license was withdrawn by the DEB for financial reasons, the loser of the playdowns, EV Landshut , could stay in the class. The direct climber was EHC Dynamo Berlin , who won the championship of the 2nd Bundesliga and thus returned to the top class after a break of only one year.

All play-off rounds were played in the " Best-of-Five " mode.
