The 1970/71 season of the ice hockey Bundesliga was the 13th season of the highest German ice hockey league and at the same time the first to be played again in a simple double round. German champion was EV Füssen , which won its 15th championship with a 13-point lead. The Mannheim ERC was relegated to the major league and was replaced by Preussen Krefeld , who had won the league with 22 wins in 22 games.
