Peter Schwimmbeck (born September 14, 1941 in Füssen , German Reich ) is a former German ice hockey player . He was German champion several times with EV Füssen and played in the German national team from 1962 to 1966 and 1969/70 .
Career
As a teenager, Peter Schwimmbeck became a member of EV Füssen , which played a leading role in German ice hockey from the 1950s to 1970s. Because of his achievements, he soon joined the first team of his club, for which he played in the ice hockey Bundesliga and with which he won the German ice hockey championship eight times . He succeeded in doing this for the first time in 1961 . Further German championships of EV Füssen followed with his participation in 1963, 1964, 1965, 1968, 1969, 1971 and 1973. In addition, EV Füssen won the Spengler Cup in 1964 with him .
On the occasion of the tenth German championship of EV Füssen in 1963, the players who had won this championship received the silver laurel leaf from Federal President Heinrich Lübke on March 10, 1963 .
1973 swimming pool moved for two seasons to EC Peiting , who played in the newly introduced two -tier ice hockey league . After one last Bundesliga season (1975/76) for EV Füssen, Schwimmbeck ended his career.
International
For the German national ice hockey team , Schwimmbeck played a total of 35 international matches. Among other things, he took part in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , in which the German team took seventh place. Furthermore, Schwimmbeck was in Germany's squad at the B World Cup in 1965 , in which the national team reached third place.
