The German Ice Hockey Championship in 1920 was the fourth edition of these championships . In the years 1915 to 1919 there had been no championships because of the First World War .

All amateur teams of the German Ice Skating Association (DEV) were eligible to play, but not more than two teams from one town or district. The championship games took place on February 21 and 22, 1920 in Munich . Because of the small ice surface, only five players per team competed.

In the run-up to the German championship, the Bavarian championship was held.
