Willi Bliesener
Wilhelm "Willi" Bliesener (* in Stralsund ; † October 30, 1917 in West Flanders , Belgium ) was a German ice hockey goalkeeper . He is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame Germany . He played at the Berlin ice skating club since at least 1909 . With the German national team he took part in the European Championships in 1910 and 1911 , where he won the silver medal. He won the LIHG championships in 1912 and 1913 with the Berliner SC, which represented Germany . From 1912 to 1914, Bliesener won all three German championships before the First World War with the Berliner SC .
He served as a non-commissioned officer during the First World War and died from shrapnel while on duty in West Flanders . He is one of almost 48,000 Germans who were buried in the German military cemetery in Menen .
