The 2nd European Ice Hockey Championship was a premiere. For the first time the games were played on artificial ice . The venue was the Ice Palace in Berlin , Germany , from February 15 to 17, 1911 .

4 teams took part again. In addition to the teams from Belgium , Switzerland and Germany that took part in 1910 , a representative from Bohemia played for the first time ; there was no defending champion Great Britain .

The newcomer to the European Championship dominated the tournament and became a superior European champion. This laid the foundation for the great Czech ice hockey tradition.
