Replacement World Championship
The unofficial B-World Championship was held in East Berlin , GDR . Initially, the GDR's ice hockey section had returned the order to host the B-tournament of the ice hockey world championship to the international ice hockey federation after the majority of the invited nations withdrew their registration for this tournament for various reasons. So there was no official B-World Championship. Instead of the Junior Cup, a three-country tournament was planned in the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle in Berlin from March 8th to 11th, in which the selections of Belgium, Norway and the GDR took part.
