The 67th Ice Hockey World Championships in 2003 took place at the following locations and at the following times:
World Championship: April 26th to May 11th in Helsinki , Tampere and Turku ( Finland )
Division I, Group A: 15. bis 21st April in Budapest ( Hungary )
Division I, Group B: 14. bis 20th April in Zagreb ( Croatia )
Division II, Group A: April 5th to 11th in Seoul ( South Korea )
Division II, Group B: 24. bis the 30th March in Sofia ( Bulgaria )
Division III: 3. bis 6. April in Auckland ( New Zealand )
A total of 43 teams took part in these world championships.
There were no changes to the mode compared to last year . Team Canada was world champion for the 22nd time , defeating Sweden in the final .
Far East qualification
Since the South Korean team did not participate in the qualifying tournament, only a single qualifying game was played in Hachinohe, Japan.
