Dušan Milo (born March 5, 1973 in Nitra , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player who was active for many years at HK Nitra in the Slovak Extra League and with the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

The 1.76 m tall defender started with the Slovak first division club AC / HC Nitra , for whom he was on the ice between 1993 and 1999, and then spent three more seasons with the league rivals HK 36 Skalica and HKm Zvolen .

In addition, the left-handed defender defended between 2002 and 2004 at MODO Hockey from the Swedish Elitserien and in Switzerland at HC Lausanne . In 2004 Milo returned to his home club HK Dynamax Oil Nitra in the Slovak Extraliga , where he scored five goals and made 27 assists in 54 games in the 2005/06 season.

For the 2006/2007 season , the Krefeld Pinguine from the German Ice Hockey League signed the defender.

Between 2013 and 2016 he played again for his home club, won his second national championship title in 2016 and then ended his career. Since then he has been a member of the coaching staff of his home club.

International

Dušan Milo took part in addition to a large number of top-class NHL players with the Slovak national ice hockey team at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and in 2002 , 2003 and 2006 in three A World Championships. At the A World Cup in Sweden, he and his team were world champions, and a year later he won the bronze medal with his home country in Finland. In 2006 he was also in the squad of the Slovak selection at the A World Cup in Riga.
