The 69th Ice Hockey World Championships in 2005 the IIHF men were held on the following dates and at the following locations.

World Championship: April 30 to May 15, 2005 in Vienna and Innsbruck ( Austria )
Division I, Group A: 17th bis 23. April 2005 in Debrecen ( Hungary )
Division I, Group B: 17th bis 23. April 2005 in Eindhoven ( Netherlands )
Division II, Group A: 10. bis 16th April 2005 in Zagreb ( Croatia )
Division II, Group B: 4. bis 10. April 2005 in Belgrade ( Serbia-Montenegro )
Division III: 7. bis 12. March 2005 in Mexico City ( Mexico )

The games for the 69th Men's World Championship took place from April 30th to May 15th, 2005 in Austria . The venues were the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna and the Olympiahalle Innsbruck . The mode of competition remained unchanged compared to the previous year . After the Canadian dominance of the past two years, the title went back to the Czech Republic this year , which made it its eleventh world title.
