Günther Hell (born August 30, 1978 in Bolzano ) is a former Italian ice hockey goalkeeper who was last under contract with HC Bozen from the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League .

Career

Günther Hell began his career as an ice hockey player at HC Bozen , for whom he was active in Serie A1 for a total of ten years from 1997 to 2007 . During this time, the goalkeeper and his team won the national championship in 1998 and 2000 , as well as the Coppa Italia in 2003 and 2007 and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2004 . The Italian then moved to the Vienna Capitals from the Austrian ice hockey league for the 2007/08 season , but returned to Italy after only two games, where he received a contract with HC Alleghe . In the 2008/09 season he worked as a goalkeeper coach at HC Eppan. After the injury-related failure of both goalkeepers, Hell moved back to the ice. In August 2010 he signed a one-year contract with HC Bozen from Serie A1, where he was Matt Zaba's back-up .

International

For Italy , Hell only took part in the U20 Junior B World Championship in 1997 in the junior division. In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2003 , 2004 and 2005 and at the A World Championships in 2000 , 2001 , 2007 and 2008 . He also represented his country at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
