The Olympic ice hockey tournament of the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo , Norway, is the 19th ice hockey world championship and 30th ice hockey European championship . It took place from February 15th to 25th . The underperforming teams that did not take part in the Olympic tournament held a B World Championship in Liège / Belgium from March 15 to 22 .

With his tournament victory, Canada increased its World Cup record to 15 world championship titles, while Sweden won the sixth European championship as a bronze medalist. For the first time after the Second World War, the Federal Republic of Germany was also allowed to take part in the World Cup.
