Thord Rubert "Flodan" Flodqvist (born August 5, 1926 in Södertälje ; † March 15, 1988 ibid) was a Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

At club level, Thord Flodqvist first played from 1944 to 1950 for his hometown club Södertälje SK in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish division. The goalkeeper then spent two years at league rivals AIK Solna , before he was again in the goal of Södertälje SK from 1952 to the end of his career in 1960. With Södertälje he won the Swedish championship in 1953 and 1956 .

International

For Sweden Flodqvist took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 , where he won the bronze medal with his team. As the best European team, Sweden also became European champions. He was also in his country's squad at the 1953 , 1954 , 1957 and 1958 World Championships . At the world championships in 1953 and 1957 he won the gold medal with Sweden and was also European champion with his country. At the World Championships in 1954 and 1958, he won the bronze medal with his team.
