The Dreifaltigkeitskirche in Wolfsberg was first mentioned in 1616 as a citizen hospital church. Today it is a branch church of the Roman Catholic parish of St. Markus .

description

The small, west-facing Renaissance church from the 16th century has been rebuilt several times. Around 1900 the east facade was added with a gable turret and a neo-Romanesque portal. Two walled-in epitaphs date from the second half of the 16th century. A baroque bell tower rises on the south side . The three- bay interior, equipped with cross and flat dome vaults, has two lateral cones and baroque window openings in the western bay.

Facility

The three baroque altars were created by Franz Anton Detl between 1724 and 1729 . The high altar fills the height and width of the central room. He wears a group of figures of the Holy Trinity and a Maria Immaculata. The scene is surrounded by Saints Nicholas and Martin and the plague saints Sebastian and Rochus and below by Saint Rosalia in the grave. The right altar from 1724 shows the fight of St. George with the dragon, the left altar shows St. Florian extinguishing the burning Wolfsberg as well as John the Baptist and Francis .

The church also features a Gothic Pietà carved around 1410 , a carved figure of Maria with child made around 1520 in the style of the Villach workshop and a Nepomuk figure made around 1730 . There is also a panel with the legend of the Holy Blood painted around 1700, a painting of the Holy Trinity with the Archangel Michael from the 17th century and a painting Angel with Hosts from the late 17th century.
