Hans Andreas "Stöveln" Öberg (born November 21, 1926 in Gävle ; † March 9, 2009 ibid) was a Swedish ice hockey player . His brother Carl-Göran Öberg was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

At club level, Hans Öberg played exclusively for the Gävle Godtemplares IK from his hometown. From 1947 to 1964 he entered with his team in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish league. In the 1956/57 season he won the national championship with the Gävle GIK . He himself was instrumental in this success and received the goldpuck as Sweden's player of the year.

International

For Sweden , Hans Öberg took part in the Winter Olympics in Oslo in 1952 and in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1956 . At the 1952 Winter Games, he and his team won the bronze medal. As the best European team, Sweden also became European champions. He was also in his country's squad at the 1953 , 1954 , 1957 and 1958 World Championships . At the world championships in 1954 and 1958 he and his team won the bronze medal, and the gold medal at the world championships in 1953 and 1957. At the world championships in 1953 and 1957 he was also European champion with Sweden.
