Carl-Göran "Lill-Stöveln" Öberg (born December 24, 1938 in Huddinge ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player . His brother Hans Öberg was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Carl-Göran Öberg began his career as an ice hockey player at Gävle Godtemplares IK , for whose professional team he was active from 1955 to 1960 in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish league. With the Gävle GIK he won the national championship title in 1957 . From 1960 to 1968, the winger played for league rivals Djurgårdens IF , with whom he became Swedish champions three times in a row in 1961, 1962 and 1963. Most recently he was on the ice for Tranås AIF in second-rate Division 2 from 1968 to 1970 and then for three years until his retirement in 1973 for Södertälje SK from Division 1.

International

For Sweden , Carl-Göran Öberg took part in the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley , 1964 in Innsbruck and 1968 in Grenoble . At the 1964 Winter Games, he and his team won the silver medal. He was also in his country's squad at the 1958 , 1963 , 1965 and 1967 World Championships . At the world championships in 1958 and 1965 he and his team won the bronze medal, and at the world championships in 1963 and 1967 the silver medal.
