Tom Pollock

Thomas Allen "Tom" Pollock (born August 1, 1925 in Red Deer , Alberta , † August 17, 1994 ibid) was a Canadian ice hockey player . At the 1952 Winter Olympics , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Tom Pollock began his career as a hockey player in 1942 with the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. He then played for two years in the Junior Ontario Hockey League, first for the St. Catherine's Falcons and then the Galt Red Wings. He then moved to the senior sector and played for the Owen Sound Mohawks for two years. During this period he also played five games for the San Francisco Shamrocks from the Pacific Coast Hockey League . There followed two seasons with the Owen Sound Mercurys. The 1949/50 season he began with the Regina Caps, for which he played five games in the Western Canada Senior Hockey League. He then moved to the Melville Millionaires from Saskatchewan. When he played for the Millionaires, he was signed by the Edmonton Mercurys , with whom he represented Canada at the 1952 Winter Olympics. After the tournament, he spent another two seasons with the Melville Millionaires before ending his ice hockey career in 1954.

International

For Canada , Pollock took part in the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo , where he won the gold medal with his team. In eight games he scored two goals and one assist.
