The San Francisco Shamrocks were an American ice hockey franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League based in San Francisco , California .

The San Francisco Shamrocks were founded as a franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League for the 1944/45 season . In this they played for a total of six years. The most successful season for the team was the 1949/50 season , in which they took first place in the South Division. As in previous years, however, the Shamrocks could not prevail in the playoffs for the Lester Patrick Cup , the championship title of the PCHL. The team from San Francisco then stopped playing.
