The San Francisco Shamrocks were an American ice hockey franchise of the Pacific Hockey League based in San Francisco , California .
history
The franchise was founded in 1977 as the Pacific Hockey League expansion team . The name was chosen based on the team of the same name from the Pacific Coast Hockey League . In the 1977/78 season, the team took first place in the regular season and became champions. After the league was set in the 1978/79 season during the current season, the Shamrocks also stopped playing.
