The Vancouver Vanguards were a Canadian ice hockey franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League based in Vancouver , British Columbia .
history
The Vancouver Vanguards were founded as a franchise of the Pacific Coast Hockey League for the 1944/45 season . In their only season they finished fourth and last place in the North Division and reached 17 points in 25 games. After just one year, the Vanguards stopped playing again in 1945. The void they left in the city was filled by the Vancouver Canucks , who now play in the National Hockey League .
