The Men's Ice Hockey World Championship 2025 is the 88th edition of the competition organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The top division tournament will take place in Sweden and Denmark in May 2025 .

The tournament was awarded at the annual congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation during the 2019 World Cup in Slovakia after the Russian, Swedish and Czech associations agreed on dividing the World Cup tournaments from 2023 to 2025. The joint hosting by Sweden and Denmark was confirmed by the IIHF in September 2019. Sweden last hosted a World Cup together with Finland in 2013 . Denmark hosted the 2018 World Cup .
