Men's Ice Hockey World Championship 2026

The men's ice hockey world championship in 2026 is set to be the 89th edition of the competition organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF .

The following associations are preparing applications for the 2026 World Cup:

After the cancellation of the 2020 World Cup in Switzerland due to the COVID-19 pandemic , Switzerland is the favorite to host the tournament. Contrary to earlier plans, Germany is not planning to apply for 2026, but has postponed it to 2027 or 2028. Austria is also planning to apply for 2027 or 2028.
