The Men's Ice Hockey World Championship 2024 is the 87th edition of the competition organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . The top division tournament will take place in Prague and Ostrava in the Czech Republic in May 2024 .

The tournament was awarded at the annual congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation during the 2019 World Cup in Slovakia after the Russian, Swedish and Czech associations agreed on dividing the World Cup tournaments from 2023 to 2025. The last time the Czech Republic hosted a World Cup was in 2015 .
