Ice Hockey World Championship 2005

In 2005, the international ice hockey federation IIHF organized ice hockey world championships for the 69th time .

The 69th Men's World Championships took place on the following dates and locations:

A-World Championship: April 30 to May 15, 2005 in Vienna and Innsbruck ( Austria )
Division I, Group A: 17th bis 23. April 2005 in Debrecen ( Hungary )
Division I, Group B: 17th bis 23. April 2005 in Eindhoven ( Netherlands )
Division II, Group A: 10. bis 16th April 2005 in Zagreb ( Croatia )
Division II, Group B: 4. bis 10. April 2005 in Belgrade ( Serbia and Montenegro )
Division III: 7. bis 12. March 2005 in Mexico City ( Mexico )

As in the previous year , 45 teams took part in these world championships.

The 10th Women's World Championships took place as follows:

A World Championship: April 2 to 9, 2005 in Linköping and Norrköping ( Sweden )
Division I: March 27 to April 4, 2005 in Romanshorn ( Switzerland )
Division II: 13. bis 20th March 2005 in Asiago ( Italy )
Division III: 3. bis 9. March 2005 in Cape Town ( South Africa )
Division IV: 1. bis 4. April 2005 in Dunedin ( New Zealand )

A total of 30 women's teams took part in these world championships - this was a new record.

A World Championship: December 25, 2004 to January 4, 2005 in Grand Forks ( USA )
Division I, Group A: December 13 to December 19, 2004 in Sheffield ( Great Britain )
Division I, Group B: December 13 to December 19, 2004 in Narva ( Estonia )
Division II, Group A: January 3 to January 9, 2005 in Bucharest ( Romania )
Division II, Group B: December 13 - December 19, 2004 in Puigcerdà ( Spain )
Division III: Jan. 10 to Jan. 16, 2005 in Mexico City ( Mexico )

The U18 Junior World Championships 2005 took place as follows:

A World Championship: April 14 to April 24, 2005 in Plzeň and České Budějovice ( Czech Republic )
Division I, Group A: April 3 - April 9, 2005 in Maribor ( Slovenia )
