Ice Hockey World Championship 2022
The 85th Men's Ice Hockey World Championship will take place from May 13-29, 2022 in Tampere and Helsinki , Finland . The tournament was awarded to Finland at the IIHF's annual congress from May 18-20, 2017. Finland narrowly failed to bid from Belarus and Latvia for the 2021 tournament . After no other nation signaled interest in applying in 2022, the tournament was awarded to Finland. Finland has hosted an ice hockey world championship eight times, most recently in 2013 with Sweden. The main venue will be the Tampereen monitoimiareena , which is currently in the planning stage , another venue is theHartwall Arena in Helsinki.
The 46th U20 Ice Hockey World Championship will take place in Gothenburg , Sweden .
The venues for the 24th Ice Hockey World Championship for U18 juniors and the 15th Ice Hockey World Championship for U18 women have not yet been determined.
A women's ice hockey world championship will not take place in 2022 due to the Olympic Winter Games .
